The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the celebration of Pohela Boishakh – the first day of Bangla New Year.
On April 14, buses plying on Mirpur-Saidabad-Jatrabari route will turn left from Sonargaon intersection. Buses on the route will reach Saidabad-Jatrabari using Rainbow crossing-Mogbazar-Malibagh roads
Other buses will use Bangla Motor-Mogbazar- Shaheed Capt Monsur Ali Road Road via Karail Church to reach their destinations.
Buses from Mohammadpur to Saidabad-Jatrabari-Shampur via Motijheel will use Mohammadpur-Science Lab-New market-Baby Ice Cream intersection- Dhakeshwari Temple-Bokshibazar-Chankharpul via Gulistan to reach their destinations. However, private cars can use Science Lab-Kataban road.
Buses from Tongi-Airport to Gulistan and Saidabad will use Tongi-Airport-Pragoti Sarani-Malibagh Rail Crossing-Khilgaon flyover to reach their destinations. Buses from other routes can use Mohakhali-Mogbazar-Malibagh roads to reach their destinations.
Buses from Manikganj, Dhamrai and Gabtoli to Gulistan and Fulbaria will use Manikganj-Dhamrai-Gabtoli-Science Lab-New market-Baby Ice Cream intersection-Dhakeshwari Temple-Bokshibazar-Chankharpul via Gulistan to reach their destinations.
No vehicular movement on 12 routes
The traffic (south) division of DMP has instructed all kinds of transports not to move through 12 routes in Dhaka from 5am to 9pm on April 14.
The routes are Bangla Motor-Old Elephant Road; BTCL Bhaban Crossing-Poribag Crossing-Rupshi Bangla Crossing; Shahbag Crossing-Motsya Bhaban-Kadam Fountain Crossing-High Court Crossing; Zero Point-High Court Crossing; UBL-Kodom Fountain Crossing; Ruposhi Bangla Crossing-Minto Road-Baily Road-Hare Road-Left turn of Kakrail Mosque Crossing-Church Crossing- Matsya Bhaban Crossing; Nilkhet Crossing-TSC Crossing; Palashi Intersection-Shaheed Minar-Doel Chattar Crossing; Bokhshi Bazar-Jagannath Hall-TSC Crossing; High Court Crossing-Doel Chattar Crossing-Shahidullah Hall Crossing and Navy Admission Information Centre-Holy Family Hospital.
Vehicles can be parked on seven points
The traffic division also fixed seven points where the people can park their vehicles.
The points are Navy Admission Information Centre-Holy Family Hospital; Zero Point-UBL and UBL-Doinik Bangla, Curzon Hall-Bangabazar-Fulbaria, Motsya Bhaban-Segunbagicha, Shilpakola Academy Alley, Sugandha-Officers Club, Katabon-Nilkhet-Palashi.
