CoU Student Form Human Chain Demanding Safe Road and Journalism
A large number of Comilla University (CoU) students formed a human chain in front of the campus main gate yesterday noon, demanding safety on roads, safe campus & safe journalism in the banner of the campus journalist’s organization Comilla University Journalist Association-CoUJA. CoU BCL and other cultural and voluntary organizations of the university expressed their solidarity with the demonstration.
Different journalists across the country were attacked for going to collect news of the continual ‘Safe Road Agitation’. CoUJA made a demonstration protesting this kind of journalist attacks.
Tanvir Sabik, the proposer of the program and CoU correspondent of The Daily Jugantar, said, it is a matter of concern that journalists across the country can’t do their great job. They are being victim to do the profession. We claim quick trial of the offense.
Elias Hossain Sabuj, the president of CoU Chhatra league, said, ‘Bangladesh Chhatra league is a historical and traditional organization. We are always with logical pretention. The ongoing ‘Safety on Road Demand’ is a logical assertion. But BNP and Jamat-Shibir made it questioned.’
Jahidul Islam, the general secretary of CoUJA said, ‘it can’t be tolerated more. The government should take a quick step for attacking journalists. We want immediate punishment for the mischief.’
