1. How would you relate past & present fashion trends?
The key fashion trends today range from the fun throwbacks of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I believe that these were the decades that set the base for what’s trending and stylish today. I always strive to combine the styles of the past into modern outfits for stunning effects.
2. How comfortable are you working for hands with model & other designers?
I have been a part of the fashion industry for so long now that models and other designers feel all too familiar to me. It’s always great and a friendly experience whenever I work or meet with them.
3. How would you deal with an arrogant client?
There are no arrogant clients, only those who have a higher and heterogeneous set of demands or are simply unsatisfied with the service. I’d listen to what they need and try to satisfy them until we come to a mutual solution. It is vital for me to deal with all clients in the best manner possible.
4. How would you describe your personal style?
I have always been more interested in standing out in the crowd. I like dressing as uniquely as possible – following the latest, modern trends, and often going with the most niche of styles.
5. Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?
I haven’t decided what I would be doing this afternoon, let alone tomorrow. For me, it’s more about living each day with as much excitement and energy as possible. And in the end, it is not like “I got to have at least 100 covers in ten years.” My goals are not really focused on material things, People should remember me and NEYVA for sure!
6. What do you consider the important facets of the fashion industry?
Creativity, Modern Outlook, Innovation, and Out of The Box Thinking.
7. What do you think about work ethics and what kind of ethics you believe in following while working with fashion?
I really love the work that I do. Few people are able to grow up and have a job that they dreamed of having since childhood, and I was able to achieve that. The love for fashion and the fact that fashion makes people happy keeps me motivated. I believe in my love and passion for fashion designing and it never fails to make me fall in love with it over and over again.
8. What kind of software do you use while designing, if no, then also be frank?
While software can be really useful for giving final touches to the design, I usually sketch my ideas on paper and then work on giving life to it – drape fabric on dress stand, folding, tucking, and pinning until the final idea for an outfit emerges.
9.what skills according to you are necessary for a successful fashion designer?
There are so many things that one needs to become a successful fashion designer. First of all, one needs to keep in mind that it is a highly competitive industry, so one needs a competitive spirit to create innovative designs. And to create innovative designs one got to be highly creative and artistic, excellent drawing skills, and great visualization skills. But drawing skills wouldn’t do all the work, one should have an innate eye for detail and a good sense of color, texture, and fabric. A good combination of all these skills is absolutely important.
10. Why is Important to present your collection in Bakana Showroom Luanda?
I was looking for a platform to showcase my designs after New York to the world and what better platform than Bakana Showroom for the same. Luanda – the capital city of Angola – is one of the largest fashion hubs of the world and Bakana has enabled me to showcase my designs to the destination of my dreams.
11. Which country would like to present your next collection?
I am hoping to present my next collection in Paris. The country and a primary inspiration for most of my works, It would be my next destination.
