Supermodel Suzzaan Kakar: I’m struggling to reach my goals
Suzzaan Kakar was born in Afghanistan Kunduz City. She was 4 years old when she lost her father in Afghanistan war. After her father killed they left Afghanistan went to Pakistan than they came to Australia by humanitarian visa.
She started her career in Australia and still I’m struggling to reach my goals.She got award best swimsuit at Miss Galaxy pageant Australia.Her conversation with international fashion journalist Saif Rahman Sozib are as follows:
What do you do for a living?
For living I do part time job.
How would you describe your work? I work In account department and doing work on MYOB, FileMaker, and doing Invoicing, aside that job, I do modelling , Fashion designing, and interior designing as well.
What does your work entail?
As a model I do catwalk on ramp,as a Fashion designer I design highly fashion for runway,
What’s a typical work week like?
My weekly routine is part time working in office and full time studying at University, and I’m looking after my mother and aside that I do volunteer work for cancer Council Relay for Life, and on weekends I do housework, and I have got 4 cats, I’m looking after them as well and apart from all these things I give time to social media as well.
How did you get started?
I started my designing while I joined engineering of fashion designing course after When I finish my study in Fashion designing of bachelor degree and masters I will start my own labels in Fashion industry,
What do you like about your work?
I like to complete my bachelor degree in fashion designing and masters then I wanted to be a successful fashion designer and I want to bring Afghanistan history fashion to modernize.
What do you dislike?
I don’t like When I waste my time on some thing that doesn’t deserve it.
How do you make money or how are you compensated?
From my modelling job and accounting job I do support my financially expenses .
What skills are needed to do this? First of all need to complete my studies and it needs more work experience in fashion industry and qualified to become a successful fashion designer,
what is most challenging about your work?
The most challenging is at the moment for me is timing.
what is most rewarding?
The most rewarding in fashion industry is giving you happiness and enjoyment and it gives you more chances to get ready for tomorrow’s fashion and in modelling give you confidence and power.
What advice would you offer someone considering this career?
My advice would be to people if you love fashion, then be passion about it and work hard and learn more about it,
How much time off do you get?
Every Sundays after house work and assignments I get some times off ,
what else would you like people to know about your career?
I want people know how I work hard to achieve my goal.
what is a common misconception people have about your work?
