Bangladesh Heritage Crafts Foundation 2nd gala event 2019
The founder of the International Weaver’s Festival, founded by the undersigned had launched Bangladesh Heritage Crafts Foundation on the 12th May 2018 at a residence in Gulshan, the chief guest was H.E. The American Ambassador Ms. Marcia Bernicat.
It was well attended by others who are also enthusiasts of Heritage and culture of our country. The aim of the foundation is to bring together the diverse works of Bangladesh’s artisans and highlight our rich heritage and culture, in the hope of reviving a tradition which is in decline.
After the success of last years event , Hotel Radisson has come forward to be our hospitality partner this year . There will be a two days exhibition which will be held on (Airport Road, Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka) o Friday 23rd and 24th of August, 2019 from 11am to 7 pm.
Items on display will range from deshi textiles like Dhakai Jamdani, Rajshahi silks, muslins etc. to household items. Shokher Hari and other traditional crafts that are quintessentially Bangladeshi will be displayed. Regional items from most areas of Bangladesh will be brought under one roof including our famous foodstuffs like Dhakai cheese, Bakher khani, pitha etc.
To make the event more interesting, there will also be short cultural programes showcasing Bangladeshi crafts and culture both the days.
The Bangladesh Heritage Crafts Foundation is a collaborative enterprise bringing together people who take pride in their heritage and are keen to uphold it, while at the same time also providing a perfect platform for Ambassadors from other countries to showcase their culture and heritage.
This year with crafts we have also included culture and everything related to the Heritage of Bangladesh.
