1.Tell me a bit about your brand?
I love both history and science fiction. I think this gives me a holistic view of the world. I recognized how the world has progressed. My brand has fused different style sensibilities in response to a new world that needed new clothing.
I understand that a fluid world with fluid people requires clothing that adapts,
expresses new truths, and speaks to a new future. My latest collection combines the sophisticated philosophies of men’s tailoring and references pop culture through different time periods that reflect how we live today.
This new look embodies the tailoring of luxury fashion with comfort and movement. Luxurious fabrics and rich colors work together in a way that is sexy and sensual. Patrick Cupid is a lot of to design and to wear.
2. What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?
The Fall/winter 2021 collection is called “Paradigm”. PA RA DIME
It hails the vestige of deshabillé and bohémienism composed in sumptuous textiles and color. The collection has elements of leisurewear and formal attire to produce a look that abstracts traditional dress codes. “Paradigm” is a poignant contemporary collection mirroring an emerging sensibility in a fashion with influences of progressive street style.
I am a people watcher. It is the people on the street that tell you what fashion needs and wants. It’s wonderful to interpret where style is going in this way. You can see exactly how time repeats itself and how it has evolved. Paradigm is the thread connecting these ideologies.
3. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?
People are more involved in fashion now. Social media has allowed fashion to be more inclusive to the world at large. Fashion week is now accessible to anyone. This is good.
I don’t think social media influences style as much as it creates trends. It is a tool that can help brands gain awareness but it is not what makes a brand successful.
