Walk of freedom

The Walk of Freedom was a unique showcase by designer Abhishek Dutta in a specially curated collection made from khadi and Bengal weaves at the iconic Indian Museum celebrating &5years of Indian independence.

The 208 years old magnificent Indian Museum plays the host for a fashion event for the first time .The collection made in Kora (white) and red is a tribute to the freedom fighters who actually given their life for our freedom.Khadi and dhakai jamdani , chanderi with handwoven linens forms the base of the collection.

Structured jackets to fluid kaftans, dresses and even sarees are included in the collection.Intricate handembroidery with threadwork and french knots creates an interesting textures to the collection.The collection has enhanced with handcrafted jewellery by Virrayaa jewellery. The show was all about celebrating freedom and had conslates of different countries along with figures from sports who actually made India proud walked the ramp.

Australian consulate general Rowan Ainsworth, US deputy Adrian Pratt along with Olympian archer Rahul banerjee and Sanayaa captain female rugby team shasayed the ramp.The event was supported by the ministry of Culture and various luxury sponsors like Audi ,Fiama di wills, kutchina,century,Nouriture ,Goomti and siti network.

The real show stopper for the evening was Mr Chandra Kumar Bose grand nephew of Subhas chandra Bose along with his wife walked the ramp.Attended by the who’s who of the city making the event a grand success.
